Lisa Richardson, B. Sc.
Receptionist

Lisa joined the staff at Burleson Equine Hospital in
August 1997.  She started as the front desk
receptionist and has since taken over all the front office
duties.  She is a graduate of Colorado State University
in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Equine and
Animal Science and was named the outstanding
graduate in the department.  She has been a member
of the Horsemen’s Association at CSU, along with
competing on the Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association team and rodeo teams.  She has actively
shown horses of all breeds and disciplines, and
currently owns and rides Quarter Horses.  She and her
husband Ed live on a small ranchette in Crowley with
three horses, three dogs, and three cats (including the
former office kitty Smudge).....  Lisa and Ed were
blessed in November 2004 with the birth of Kylie Rose,
a true Lone Star Cowgirl.

Johanna Knecht
Veterinary Technician Assistant


Johanna was hired in August of 2007.  She is a native Southern
California girl who moved to Texas in the Summer of 2005.  She
attends the University of Texas at Arlington where she is majoring in
Biology.  She hopes to attend Texas A & M University College of
Veterinary Medicine and receive her DVM.  She grew up riding and
showing Peruvian Paso horses.  Shortly after high school she got into
the Quarter Horse world and started showing Reiners and Working
Cow horse..  She still owns a wonderful Peruvian Paso mare and a
Reining Cow horse gelding.  She lives in Arlington with her parents.

Kristi Ely, B. Sc., R.V.T.
Clinical Laboratory Manager and Head Veterinary Technician

Kristi has been with Burleson Equine Hospital since May 1995.  
She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of
Science in Animal Science in 1981.  She received her Associates
Degree in Nursing in 1985 from Meridian Junior College.  As a
Registered Nurse, her fields of practice were primarily in the
emergency room and critical care unit.  In 1997, she completed the
requirements for a degree in Veterinary Technology to become a
Registered Veterinary Technician.  She has lived in Crowley for
more than nine years.  She is married and has one teenaged son.  
Kristi has owned and shown Quarter Horses and Paint Horses
since 1970.

Rose Riddle
Veterinary Technician

Rose joined the staff of Burleson Equine Hospital in July 2001 as the barn
manager and has since been promoted to technician.  Rose has been
involved in the agriculture business for most of her life.  She studied various
aspects of agriculture in school and was a member of the FFA.  She has
also been riding and breaking horses since the age of ten.  She currently
lives in Grandview with three paint horses of her own and she cares for ten of
her neighbors horses.  She is married to Jack Riddle and has four grown
sons, along with three grown step-daughters.

Mary Garza
Veterinary Technician

Mary started working at BEH in November 2002 as part-time weekend
help and enjoyed it so much that she accepted a full-time position in
April 2004. She currently works at night, monitoring hospitalized
patients, assisting in after hours emergencies and getting the clinic
ready for the next days business. Mary started riding horses when she
was 11 years old and trained her own horse to become reserve circuit
champion.  She has also worked as a trainer for a saddlebred farm in
Montana and an assistant trainer for a stable at Eagle Mountain Lake,
specializing in western pleasure and reining. Currently she owns
several Paint and Quarter Horse broodmares, as well as two Paint
stallions, a blue roan tobiano reiner and a palomino overo ROM halter
stallion, several cats, dogs and a rabbit.

Monica Jones
Receptionist

Monica joined the staff at Burleson Equine Hospital in June 2001.  She
graduated from Texas Christian University in 2004 with a Bachelor of
Business Administration degree.  She is employed full time at Alcon
Laboratories, but still works on Saturdays for BEH.  Monica has been
involved in barrel racing and pole bending since the age of 12.  She
has been a member of North Texas High School Rodeo Association,
Crowley Rodeo Team, Pro-Youth Rodeo Association, Barrel Racing
Association of Texas, and American Quarter Horse Association.  

Morgan Boles
Receptionist/Veterinary Technician Assistant

Morgan was hired in January of 2008.  She
graduated from Weatherford College in 2006 with  an
Associates Degree in Equine Science and
Management.  Morgan grew up in Arlington and
married Michael Boles in May of 2007.  They live in
Ft. Worth with their dog Zao.  Morgan has four years
of experience as a veterinary assistant, working with
both horses and small animals.  

Stevie Badger
Veterinary Technician Assistant

Alexis Williams
Registered Veterinary Technician

Alexis joined the staff in May 2002 and  is a full-time registered
veterinary technician.  She graduated in May of 2005 from
Cedar Valley College with an Associates of Applied Science,
sat for state and national exams in June 2005 to achieve her
RVT status. She has several years of large animal experience
ranging from cattle, hogs, and  horses.  She is married and has
one elementary school aged daughter.
